The Babadook. This movie was slow moving and being labeled a “horror” film was completely off the mark. It took an hour to ever see a semblance of a “monster” and there were really zero scares. The story had a lot of potential but was honestly little more than a psychological film addressing grief and the inability to cope with it. At the most, the film was little more than disturbing. The ten minute short that it evolved from, “The Monster” was far better and more entertaining. The concept and story idea was excellent; it just didn’t hit the target.
